Second on the list from this blog and the one with one of the best views, we took on the spy rock hike. We took on the trail starting near the fish hatchery road. Surprisingly, we were greeted with a downpour. It was a pretty short trail in terms of length, totaling about 1.5 miles, one-way. But the sheer amount of altitude we gained in the short trail, it was just amazing. Still the hike, I would only classify as moderate. However, the final part of the trail, the actual “spy rock” climb, is something that makes you work for the view.
What’s more? We get up there and guess what! Of course, we had an awesome view. But what was more amazing, interesting and horrifying was the thunder-storm quickly approaching us. We saw it come in, enjoyed the view, and rand back down in like 5 mins. But it was completely worth the view. Check out the pictures below to see for yourself.
And to add to the fun were my room-mate William Bailey and a fellow intern Tyler Smith. Thanks, you guys.
